Three boreholes commissioned this quarter bring year-round clean water to villages in the Tillabéri region, serving an estimated 4,000 people who previously walked several kilometres to the nearest source.
Each site was handed over with a trained local maintenance committee and a two-year spare-parts stock. That handover matters more than the drilling: a pump nobody can repair is a pump that fails within eighteen months.
What comes next
Water-quality testing continues on a quarterly cycle, and the same committees will be the first point of contact for the next phase of works planned for the following dry season.
