Partnering on grain storage ahead of the dry season

Working with district authorities, the Foundation is funding six community grain stores in areas where post-harvest losses run at roughly a quarter of the crop.

The stores are deliberately modest — sealed, raised, ventilated, and small enough that a village can manage one without outside help. Ambitious infrastructure that nobody owns tends to sit empty.

Measuring it

Losses will be sampled against the same districts’ figures from the previous two seasons, and the results published here whether or not they flatter the programme.
